About Us

Soli Deo Gloria!

Hello there! Thanks for dropping by. I am a mix of experiences, and I’ve got quite a story from nearly 85 years of life, but I’ll be brief. I’ve been down different paths, but God’s grace and mercy brought me back on track.

I grew up as a pastor’s kid. During the Korean War, my father, a minister, was killed by the communists. Afterward, my family suffered through sickness, deaths, and deep poverty. In my youth and early adulthood, I became stubborn and rebellious against God, angry at what seemed like His lack of interest in my life. I pushed Him away, but before long I found myself in a ‘pigpen’ — stricken with a serious illness that had no easy cure, with no financial means, and with all hope gone.

Then something incredible happened. At the moment I was ready to give up, God spoke to me: “Your life is not yours. A little further up, there is an easy downhill.” It was the voice of a loving Father. He graciously welcomed and restored me. When I turned 60, I became a minister, and ever since, my mission has been to spread the amazing grace I myself received.

For around 15 years, I’ve been hitting the streets of Mexico to talk about faith with people. It’s been eye-opening and has only deepened my confidence in the power of the Gospel. I am a big believer in what the Bible teaches — and I have come to see that the Bible must stand above every theology or doctrine.

I’ve been through the wringer when it comes to different ways of thinking about God — Reformed, Arminian, and strands of New Pentecostal teaching, particularly the Prosperity Gospel. I’ve also wrestled deeply with questions of theodicy: the problem of evil and suffering under a good and sovereign God. Through it all, I’ve engaged each seriously and honestly.

But here is what I’ve come to know: Sola Scriptura is not Sola Selecta Scriptura. The whole Word must have authority governing our thinking — not just the passages that conveniently support our preferred systems and practices.

We in the 21st century have the privilege of standing on the shoulders of those who came before us. Less bound by some of the defensive postures shaped by earlier battles against heresies and Rome, we now benefit from richer tools, broader scholarship, and a clearer view of how theological concepts developed over time. That wider perspective gives us every reason to hold the Bible above all our theologies.

Theological study is valuable — its contributions are real and significant. Yet somewhere along the way, a quiet shift occurred: what was meant to serve the Scripture began, in practice, to stand over it. That is a drift we must name and, by God’s grace, reverse.

Now I see these theologies from a fresh perspective — one that comes from digging deeper and wider into what the full Bible actually says. My hope is that this site will be a place where we return to the full witness of Scripture and let it speak in its own voice—together.

My message is all about two things: how God is both just and loving, and how those qualities shape everything He does. I see these themes running through the whole Bible, and they are at the heart of my faith.

As I get older, I’m all about one thing: giving glory to God. Everything I do, I do to honor Him. When it comes to life’s big questions, I stick with one rule: the Bible is the best guide I’ve got, and the Holy Spirit is my best Teacher and Counselor.

So, join me as I keep exploring, thinking, and talking about all the things that matter, as the Holy Spirit leads. My goal is to get you thinking too, and to help us all draw closer to God’s heart. I hope my stories and thoughts resonate with you on your own faith journey.

Ultimately, my desire is to finish my race strong, leaving behind a legacy that honors God above all else.

With thanks,

Samuel Kim
